Jim Halford joined the Brunini firm after graduating from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1985. Jim practices in the area of public utility regulation, with an emphasis in the fields of natural gas and telecommunications. He regularly appears before the Mississippi Public Service Commission on behalf of natural gas utilities and telecommunications providers. Jim's practice also includes pipeline litigation, including prosecution of injunctive relief and eminent domain actions, as well as defense of surface damage and personal injury claims in state and federal courts. He also oversees pipeline and fiber optic right-of-way projects and advises clients on easement issues. Jim has lobbied the Mississippi Legislature on behalf of local natural gas utilities, interstate natural gas pipeline companies, and telecommunications companies. In 1999 he chaired a panel on natural gas deregulation issues at the National Conference of Regulatory Attorneys. Jim serves on the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Heritage Trust, an organization dedicated to the preservation of Mississippi's historical structures. He is recognized by Woodward/White's Best Lawyers in America for his expertise in Communications Law.
