Scott F. Singley
Member
Scott is a Member in the Northeast Mississippi office. He has practiced law in Columbus, MS since 2000 and focuses his practice on employment law, environmental litigation and commercial litigation.
Scott graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he served as Associate Articles Editor of the Mississippi Law Journal. He received the Robert C. Khayat Award for outstanding service and contribution to the Mississippi Law Journal, the Earl T. Thomas Award for Excellence in Writing, and the Outstanding Student Award in Commercial Paper. Scott was also a member of the 1999 National Trial Competition Team.
Scott currently serves as Vice-President of the Lowndes County Bar Association, and as President of the Golden Triangle Young Lawyers Association. In addition, he serves on the Lowndes County United Way’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Scott and his wife, Stephanie, have three children.
Representative Matters

Obtained enforcement of a non-competition agreement, along with Lindsey Wiseman, restraining a restaurant's former manager from competing against it. The manager had previously left the restaurant in violation of his non-competition agreement to work in management at a newly opened competing restaurant. Pursuant to a motion for injunctive relief filed by Singley and Wiseman, the court entered an injunction against the former manager preventing him from working at the competing restaurant for a period of six months. Pursuant to motions to dismiss filed by Singley and Wiseman, the court also dismissed numerous counterclaims filed by the former manager related to his employment at the restaurant.
- Defended poultry company in putative class action matter involving alleged violations of the federal Packers and Stockyards Act.
- Defended owner of wood-treatment plant in toxic tort litigation involving personal injury and property damage claims by thousands of plaintiffs.
- Defended multiple companies in toxic tort litigation involving personal injury and property damage claims related to alleged PCB contamination.
- Recently obtained a summary judgment in a racial discrimination matter filed in federal court by multiple plaintiffs as a putative class action.
- Successfully obtained dismissal of a class action filed in federal court by the EEOC involving allegations that the defendants engaged in a pattern and practice of racial discrimination.
