Jeannie Sansing, who has practiced law for over 20 years, worked in Jackson, MS before moving to Columbus, MS in 1999. Her practice focuses on environmental litigation, health care litigation, commercial litigation and insurance defense and coverage issues. Jeannie’s practice has included complex litigation matters involving toxic torts and a number of large, multi-state document productions. She has represented governmental entities and officials at both the state and local levels, and worked on a number of cases involving the Mississippi Tort Claims Act. Jeannie is listed by the Mississippi Tort Claims Board as one of its approved attorneys for MTCA matters.
Jeannie graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi, receiving the Hugh Bateman award for the highest GPA in her major. She graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where she served as a Research Editor of the Mississippi Law Journal. She received the American Jurisprudence Award in Constitutional Law.
Jeannie is qualified to serve as a mediator, with basic and advanced training in the mediation process and skills of conflict resolution. She has also trained in the specific area of appellate mediation, through the Alabama Alternative Dispute Center and the Alabama Appellate Court System. In 2005, the Special Education Office of the Mississippi Department of Education appointed Jeannie to serve as one of its hearing officers for due process hearing requests. Since that time, she has serve as the hearing officer for a number of due process requests.
Jeannie and her husband, Perry, have two daughters.
