Taylor B. McNeel

Taylor concentrates his practice on civil litigation and has trial and appellate experience in a wide range of matters. Taylor’s broad litigation practice has included suits involving fraud, civil RICO, antitrust, construction, personal injury, and wrongful death claims. Taylor has also been involved with cases invoking the First Amendment rights to freedom of speech, press, and religion.
Taylor’s representation of clients has extended throughout Mississippi’s state and federal courts. Further, Taylor has an extensive appellate practice and has handled a number of appellate matters in front of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals - including presenting oral argument on an issue of first impression in an antitrust matter.
Taylor regularly handles litigation for construction companies, lenders, manufacturers, retailers, casinos and many other types of businesses. Also, Taylor has experience in advising businesses on internal antitrust issues. Taylor received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Mississippi School of Law where he was a member of the Mississippi Law Journal, and Taylor received his B.B.A. cum laude from the University of Mississippi. Taylor has been named a Mid-South Rising Star in Civil Litigation Defense. Taylor and his wife, Jessica, have one daughter, Mollie.
Representative Matters
- Lead trial counsel for defendants where defense verdict was obtained in a trial that involved multiple legal issues including allegations of RICO, conspiracy, fraud, and negligence.
- Lead trial counsel for defendants in admitted liability case where jury returned a verdict for less than 15% of the damages that plaintiff demanded in the complaint.
- Obtained a defense verdict in a jury trial for a defendant that was sued for personal injury claims.
- Obtained a dismissal for an English bank after the Court granted the bank’s motion to dismiss where a debt trading company claimed that the English bank was liable for over $3,000,000 for allegedly breaching a “forward sale” contract.
- Obtained a summary judgment for a bank where a developer claimed that the bank breached a $500,000 loan commitment.
