Victory for Flowers and Singley

Gordon Flowers and Scott Singley recently obtained a judgment for compensatory and punitive damages and attorneys' fees in the sum of $310,480.60.  Suit was filed against our client's former buyer asserting he had had engaged in an embezzlement scheme.  After a trial on the merits, Monroe County Chancellor Michael Malski ruled in favor of our client and awarded compensatory damages in the amount of $201,480.60.  The court also ruled that the former buyer's conduct warranted punitive damages under Mississippi law.  A subsequent hearing was held in which judgment for punitive damages in the amount of $10,000 and attorneys' fees in the amount of $100,000 was entered.

Gordon and Scott, in the Columbus office, were assisted by Lauren Oaks from the Jackson office.
