On December 7, 2012, Gordon Flowers and Scott Singley obtained a defense verdict on behalf of an OB/GYN in a medical negligence case. In this case, a shoulder dystocia was encountered during the birth, and the infant was born with a permanent injury to his left brachial plexus. Plaintiffs alleged the OB/GYN was negligent in the delivery causing the left brachial plexus injury. Additionally, plaintiffs alleged the OB/GYN was negligent in failing to obtain the informed consent of the mother for a vaginal delivery. The one week trial was in Lowndes County Circuit Court before Judge Lee Howard. No appeal was taken.
