Sharon Bridges is a Partner at Brunini, Grantham, Grower & Hewes in Jackson, MS and has more than 12 years experience as a trial lawyer. She practices in the areas of product liability, medical malpractice and commercial litigation representing national and local corporations.
Sharon is a leader both in her community and within the legal profession. She currently serves as the Regional Director for the National Bar Association Region V; Executive Board Member for the National Bar Association Commercial Law Section; Co-Chair for the American Association of Nurse Attorneys Litigation Section and Hinds County Bar Association Board Member. Attorney Bridges is a member of the American Bar Association, Mississippi Bar Association, Louisiana Bar Association and the Magnolia Bar Association. She is on the board of directors for the Mississippi School of Math and Science Foundation, Leadership Greater Jackson, MS Cancer Society and volunteers for numerous other community agencies. Sharon was selected as the 2007 Woman of the Year by the Mississippi Women Lawyers Association.
La'Verne Edney joined the Brunini Firm in 1998, where she is a member of the General Litigation Department. La'Verne's practice areas include mass tort litigation, product liability, employment discrimination, medical malpractice, and personal injury. Presently, La'Verne serves on the Mississippi Bar Association's Committee on Professional Responsibility. She has served as Chairperson of the Ethics Committee of the Mississippi Bar Association, Chairperson of the Personnel Committee of the Board of Trustees of Mississippi College, and Chairperson of the Education Foundation Trust Advisory Committee. La'Verne was appointed by Governor Haley Barbour to serve on the Judicial Appointments Advisory Committee. She was also appointed by the Supreme Court to serve on the Task Force for Gender Fairness and the Commission on Bar Admissions Review.
La'Verne is an active member of several civic organizations including Leadership Jackson, Jackson 2000, Mississippi Women Lawyers' Association, Metro Jackson Black Women Lawyers' Association and Mississippi Families as Allies for Children's Mental Health, Inc. She was chosen by Mississippi College School of Law as the Young Lawyer of the Year for 2005-2006. She was also chosen as one of the top African American "Movers and Shakers" in 2005 by the Mississippi Business Chronicle.
Cheri Green joined Brunini in 1988 and became a member of the Firm in 1992. Cheri has a broad litigation practice ranging from commercial litigation, single-plaintiff personal injury and multi-plaintiff mass tort dockets. She also has an extensive insurance practice concentrating on defense of bad-faith claims, coverage litigation and health care issues, including ERISA, HIPAA and mental health care
Recently, Cheri headed up the Firm’s mass-tort Silica Division. This role included management of the State Court cases as well as the National MDL 1553 docket where she was one of five members of the Steering Committee before the MDL was de-activated.
Cheri is the Firm's pro bono committee chair and was selected as one of twelve recipients to receive the 2006 Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division “President’s Award”. Cheri was recognized for her efforts and dedication through the Young Lawyers Division Disaster Legal Assistance Program to those who survived Hurricane Katrina.
