Real Estate
Real estate has been an important part of the firm’s practice from its inception. The members of the real estate team include fellows of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the American College of Mortgage Attorneys and leaders of the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Section. The firm regularly represents clients in purchase and sale transactions, leasing, mortgage financing, development projects, UCC transactions, oil and gas financing, construction, mezzanine financing and timber sales. Recent real estate projects the firm has handled include transactions involving power plants, telecommunications facilities, office buildings, shopping centers, hospitals, steel plants, shipyards, casinos, barge financing, mezzanine financing, tenant in common financing and the purchase and financing of large blocks of mineral and timber interests. The firm's real estate practice also includes expertise in zoning and land use regulation, which is described as a separate practice area. See Zoning and Land Use Regulation. The real estate team is able to draw on the firm’s expertise in environmental, energy, public finance and taxation matters.

- Negotiation of industrial product tolling manufacturing agreement and related sales and distribution agreements for publicly-traded manufacturer.
- Negotiation of lease-purchase of client’s commercial printing facilities.

- Negotiation of commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
- Represented Covington Realty Partners in acquisition of Lakeland Commons Shopping Center in Flowood.
- Represented Hillwood Development of Dallas in construction financing and development of industrial property in Southaven, Mississippi.
- Represented Medley Capital in financing of property for major mixed use development in Marshall County
- Represented CIT in financing of purchase of casino in Vicksburg.
- Represented LSF5 of Dallas in foreclosure and sale of shopping center in Brandon, Mississippi.
- Represented Mills Corporation in financing of regional shopping mall in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
- Represented Time Equities in purchase and financing of shopping center in Jackson, Mississippi.
- Represented Silvertip Development in purchase and financing of brownfields site for development as retail and golf course site in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
