Biography
Benje Bailey joined the Brunini Firm in 2000 and is a member of one of
the Firm’s litigation departments. He received his B.P.A. from Mississippi
State University in 1997 and his J.D. from the University of Mississippi
in 2000, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and the
Mississippi Law Journal. Benje has extensive experience in handling
complex commercial, products liability, and mass tort cases in state and
federal courts in Mississippi and elsewhere. Benje has been a member
of trial teams on multi-state litigation concerning issues of national
significance.
Benje has been recognized in The Best Lawyers® in America in
Commercial Litigation, Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions – Defendants,
and Trademark Law. Mid-South© Rising Stars also recognized him in
Business Litigation, and he is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell.
Benje is a past Recruiting Chairman of the Firm and is currently serving
as the Firm’s Associate Liaison. Benje is active in the Firm’s global legal
network, Meritas, as a member of the Litigation Steering Committee
and the New Member Engagement Committee. Benje has also been
active in business and civic affairs. He is a current Board Member for
Make-A-Wish Mississippi and the Sweetwaters Ministry. He also serves
as the President of North Jackson Youth Baseball & Softball and coaches
a number of youth sports teams.
Benje and his wife, Mimi, have four children and are active in their
church, Pinelake.

Representative Matters
- Representing Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi in multidistrict class action antitrust litigation centralized in Alabama federal court in which subscribers and health care providers allege a conspiracy to allocate markets and fix prices for health insurance premiums and provider reimbursements.
- Represented Lincoln Electric, The BOC Group, Hobart, Illinois Tool Works, The ESAB Group, Airgas, and others in multidistrict litigation centralized in Ohio federal court and related Federal and state trial and appellate court litigation in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, and West Virginia by plaintiffs alleging neurological injury resulting from exposure to fumes from welding consumables and equipment.
- Represented a variety of manufacturers in Mississippi litigation brought by plaintiffs alleging product liability claims.
