Regulatory
Brunini maintains a formidable regulatory law practice, and for decades has ranked among the leaders in the region for environmental, energy, public utility, telecommunications law and the law of eminent domain. By virtue of their significant experience, many of our attorneys hold prominent positions in relevant areas of the Mississippi Bar, the State Department of Environmental Quality, the Mississippi Commission on Environmental Quality and other pertinent posts of responsibility.
In conjunction with our trial attorneys, our regulatory lawyers have extensive experience and considerable reputation in all manner of environmental and regulatory proceedings. We represent client interests both within and beyond the state, at both the state and Federal levels, including before the United States Department of Justice, proceedings before the Mississippi Environmental Quality Permit Board, the Mississippi Oil and Gas Board and the Mississippi Public Service Commission.
Brunini’s regulatory practice also extends into the volatile health care arena. Our attorneys represent health care entities, from physicians and physician groups to hospitals, including the largest health care provider in Mississippi, in administrative proceedings as well as in a wide variety of issues arising under Stark II, Medicaid, and matters of compliance.
In terms of advocacy, Brunini closely monitors and observes pending proposals and legislation, working closely with clients and appropriate trade associations to advance and protect client interests.
