Biography
William C. “Charlie” Penick, IV is the chair of the firm’s commercial department, focusing his practice in the areas of federal and state taxation, corporate law and mergers and acquisitions. Charlie obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting and his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi. Following law school, Charlie graduated from the University of Miami with an LL.M. degree in taxation.
Charlie has significant experience in estate planning, probate and advising nonprofit organizations, including formation, qualification and governance issues.
Charlie is currently a member of the Independent SALT Alliance and the Estate Planning Council of Mississippi. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America in the fields of Business Organizations (including LLCs and Partnerships), Closely Held Companies and Family Businesses Law, Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions Law, Nonprofit / Charities Law, Tax Law and Trust and Estates. Charlie was most recently recognized as the Lawyer of the Year for Nonprofit / Charities Law in Jackson, MS.

- Represented client in sale of automotive dealership.
